Commercial Strategic Reality

Energy is one of the largest controllable costs on your P&L.

For industrial manufacturing facilities, electricity often represents 8% to 25% of total operating expenditure. Yet most corporate leaders treat power procurement as a passive utility bill rather than an active capital decision.

Developers, EPC contractors, and equipment vendors sell what is in their inventory. Parable sits exclusively on your side of the negotiating table, evaluating tariff structures, cash flows, and commercial contracts with zero bias.

The Cost Problem

Rising industrial grid tariffs, escalating demand charges, and time-of-day penalties erode operating margins year after year. Most enterprises accept these cost inflations rather than structuring proactive hedges.

The Structural Opportunity

Transitioning to renewable power procurement can generate between 20% and 65% in unit cost savings, depending on consumption load profiles, state grid open access regulations, and contracted project structures.

Parable's Client-Side Fiduciary Role

We are independent of solar developers and EPCs. We do not take supply-side intermediary commissions or third-party finder fees. Our compensation is aligned purely with your commercial interests, realized P&L savings, and legal risk mitigation.

Structural Routes

Four Routes to Lower Industrial Power Cost

Each renewable structure exhibits distinct capital requirements, regulatory interfaces, and risk profiles. We determine the exact fit for your multi-plant network.

Route 01

Rooftop Solar (Behind-the-Meter)

On-site solar installation utilizing facility rooftops, carports, and vacant plant premises. Power is generated directly behind your grid meter, avoiding state wheeling charges and transmission losses.

Best For: Facilities with large, unshaded roof area and continuous daytime operating loads. Fast deployment with minimal regulatory friction.

Route 02

Third-Party Open Access

Procuring power from large-scale off-site solar, wind, or hybrid parks through the state transmission and distribution grid under Open Access frameworks. Enables procurement at scale far exceeding facility rooftop limits.

Best For: High-consumption industrial consumers (>1 MW sanctioned demand) subject to state-specific wheeling, banking, and cross-subsidy regulations.
Evaluate Open Access →
Route 03

Group Captive Structures

The gold standard in Indian corporate renewable procurement. The consumer holds a 26% equity stake in the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) and consumes at least 51% of generated power, legally exempting the enterprise from cross-subsidy surcharges.

Best For: Maximum tariff reduction (typically 35–55% savings vs DISCOM grid rates). Requires equity commitment, SPV governance modeling, and contract rigour.
Evaluate Group Captive →
Route 04

Long-Term Corporate PPA (Zero Capex)

A private power purchase contract with an institutional clean energy developer who funds, constructs, owns, and operates the generating asset. The enterprise purchases power at a predetermined fixed or indexed tariff over 15 to 25 years.

Best For: Balance sheets prioritizing zero upfront capital expenditure while securing long-term inflation hedges against commercial grid tariff hikes.

Execution Workflow

What Parable Does for Your Energy Economics

Six structured advisory workflows protecting your commercial interests from initial bill audit to multi-year performance audits.

1. Tariff Diagnostics

We extract historical 12-month billing data, analyzing sanctioned load, power factor penalties, maximum demand charges, and time-of-day consumption intervals.

2. Structure Feasibility

We model which pathway (Rooftop, Open Access, Group Captive, or PPA) offers the highest net present value (NPV) given state regulatory banking policies and charges.

3. Developer Benchmarking

We conduct competitive apples-to-apples comparisons across top developers, evaluating track record, financial stability, equipment tiering, and tariff guarantees.

4. Financial Modeling

We build corporate-grade financial cash flow projections: EBITDA margin accretion, return on capital employed (ROCE), debt coverage, and sensitivity to grid tariff escalation.

5. Contract Negotiation

We negotiate 25-year PPAs and shareholder agreements, resolving crucial risk terms: deemed generation compensation, minimum CUF guarantees, termination penalties, and buyback clauses.

6. Implementation & Audit

We monitor milestone execution during evacuation setup and conduct ongoing periodic audits of DISCOM bills to ensure expected savings materialize on the P&L.
